Poem – Inside, Out.

“Inside, Out.”

So Low.
for how high?
Seems a wonder I should live
and you should die.
That I, should’ve taken the world for granted
While you,
So young,
Head to the sky.
Solo, I try
To rid my mind of sadness.
To smile while I cry.
Inside.
Out.
Here, I find the floor has given away
from all rational thought and realities knot.
Unknown.
Distraught.
Shattered into splintered sheets,
melancholy cracks, so deep.
Here, where the shallow hum
beats my heart like a drum.
Here, the threatened.
Here, undone.
And I pay no mind to the passing of time because
there never seems to be enough of it anyway.
Over the drawn line between pleasure and pain,
My memories, a pendulum, in endless sway.
The suns corona, eclipsing arch
toward which we all must march,
still seems to heavy to bear.
But still,
nonetheless in motion.
Nonetheless,
unstoppable.
For now my life is on hold
and yours, no longer holding on.
Missing, the time between us.
Missed, because you’re gone.
So low.
for how high?
Seems a wonder I should live
and you should die.
That I, should’ve taken the world for granted
while you,
so young,
Leave us behind.
